I'm asking would you pay 10-20 times spot for bullion coins? It could be silver, gold, platinum, any bullion coin.

If you missed buying from the mint, buying a graded one in 69/70 ONLINE is the safest bet. Sure you can get most of the in OGP, but I would rather buy these in person than online.

Of course not. Show some examples of these coins selling for 10-20 times bullion value.

I see one dealer selling a 2007 AE 1/10 Platinum and is graded MS-70 First Strike by PCGS! $1.398

It's still bullion I don't see the premium for one point more

I'm losing patience. Clearly, a run of 20 coins is not considered regular routine bullion coins. Besides, if you have trouble with them then don't buy them. Other people will buy them.

First off, I don't care if you're losing your patience. You didn't read the post. Do you think bullion coins 69/70 fit in a traditional collection? Do you think paying way over spot for 69/70 is too much?

Of course people will always buy them. I'm not the one that's having a problem with the price. I'm asking the forums if they think if it's too much. Very simple question.

I read the post. Do you have a"traditional" coin collection? whatever that is. People collect what they want to collect unless you are the arbitrator of "traditional" coin collectors.

Coins graded/ungraded are worth whatever they sell for.

I still think you don't get it. At least for me, there is a big difference between numismatic and bullion.

I agree with john59. I collect "both," but the majority of my budget goes into bullion. I recently bought items from a member here (and was very pleased) and that's my first "numismatic" purchase since Christmas. I save up and buy bullion in bulk, and I would estimate that 2% to 3% of the 90% silver is "too good for bullion," and they either migrate into my album collections or into a big plastic jar where, given the opportunity, I swap 2 of my "too-good's" for 3 of someone else's commons, i.e., just-average Roosevelts or Washingtons. Mine tend to be AU "slider" Mercury Dimes of the 1940s; those are my "flavor" of Proof 69-70's.

I've found a few traders on that basis. Hard to tell what they think.
