Does a Snow Eagle sticker have the same/similar impact on an IHC's value as a CAC Green Bean would? I think it's reasonable to assume that to IHC's collectors it does. But what about the to the broader US collectors?
Just a guess on my part, I would suspect it does not have the market impact that CAC would, outside of the IHC core collectors. I also have not heard of a snow eagle sticker. Could you upload a pic? I'm highly interested in hearing a more informed opinion on this. Timely post, I've been studying up on the IHC series before diving in to build a certified set. My best now is probably an XF. One clown just wanted to sell me a bag of 75 for $75, all 20th century and none were better than G.
My understanding is that the money behind CAC treats them the same. I don't know if IHC collectors puts one above the other or not, however.
Why is he a clown sir? $1 a piece is about the going rate for IHCs, so it didn't seem he is out of line. Maybe he just misunderstood what you were looking for. I don't see any reason to call him a clown.
It would have far more of an impact to me. Rick is "THE MAN" when it comes to IHCs. To the market in general? I would say less--although, that would be a guess.
I am not an IHC collector, but I do have a couple of them for type sets. I would put more weight on Rick Snow's sticker than the CAC sticker for this particular series.
You are right. If you go to any coin shop or show, dealers are going to want a buck a piece for low grade indians. Wholesale dealer usually offer .50 cent a piece for bulk deals.
I once collected IHC's and I treated the snow sticker the same as I treated the cac sticker. It depended on the coin if it commanded the premium that some of the sellers wanted. So I always looked at the coin - in some cases, just like with CAC, I disagreed. But then again I am no where near the expert they are - the coin just did not have what I wanted for the grade.
You are correct that was pointless, his shoes, hair, and nose were not at all clown-like. Just an old expression an old friend frequently used I guess. $1 is about the going rate, however many were also damaged and I would have expected to pay less for a quantity of such coins. But no, not what I was looking for
Well, at least its better he didn't look like a clown. Even as a 4 year old, and to this day, clowns creep me out.
Lol. Can you imagine buying a coin from a clown? Apologies to the OP. And now back to our regularly scheduled thread..more on Snow's Eagle photo seal, please.
Sure it will increase the price to serious IHC collectors, he's the man on those. Whether you get that for it is another story. Depends on your bidders. But yeah, that's all we need, more people taking a piece of the price. I'm surprised we can still afford coins.
I just wish I could get a cut of the action. Seems to me getting paid to neither buy nor sell coins, just "comment", is a great gig if you can get it, huh?
I know what you're saying, but they have worked for it. It's not like it was handed to them. Think of all the people who've tried to gain that status only to fade away or not been taken seriously.
