As the title says just got my first slab. Payed $28. I have I feeling I over payed but I don't really care that much I'm not plannig on selling it.
I'm with Tommy, I think you paid on the money for it even if the can occasionally be found a couple of bucks cheaper.
Congrats Sully! I've been in Numismatics for 4 years and haven't bought a slabbed coin yet. Don't know why...
Nice coin. Another one of my favorites. The Mercury dime, Buffalo nickel, Standing Liberty quarters and the Indian Head cents are more favorite designs. Before the Dead Presidents Series. Back when coin design meant something. The educational notes were my favorites bills also.
I agree with everyone else: You did FINE!! Already slabbed at a good price...And, like everyone else, I LOVE that design---no coincidence it is on the Silver Eagles...and I couldn't agree with you more 'coop'
Nice coin! Congrats on your first slabbed addition. Even if you paid 10% too much, it wont hurt you in the long run. Keep the coin and enjoy one of the most iconic designs in our history.
Congratulations on a fine purchase! Slabs are a great way to know that a third party has graded the coin, and that you can sell it graded fairly, if you so desire. I have found, however, that there are times that I have disagreed with PCGS or NGC. I have returned the coin for a second appraisal. True, it cost me some money. But if I was certain after comparing it with the ANA standards that my coin was graded low, I resubmitted the coin. Some of them came back that got a higher grade. Just a thought.
