Yeah I know they aren't in the best conditions , but don't have a lot in them. I find them quite classic as for their age and shape. The first note an error cut 1900 25 cent Shin Plaster note.
Just like notes issued in the United States , many Canadian early notes were actually issued by banks and not the government .These notes were eliminate by the 1940's. Fractional notes with face values less than one Canadian dollar were common into the twentieth century . Frequently found in very worn conditions. The first note posted a 25 cent note I really like as it an error and I question how many handled this note knowing it was an error. Another time bit on the 1954 Canadian series of notes , is that the 20,000 and 1000 dollar notes were counterfeits. Many Canadian notes have small colored discs "plachets" that are embedded in the paper,as a counterfeit deterrent . Any notes which these "plachets " are printed on are counterfeit notes.
Next are some of my better Canadian 1954 series notes none are devil faced. A green $1 & a red $2 note.
The next set of the 1954 Canadian series the $5 blue/ grey, the $10 grey/ purple , and the $20 pale green / grey.
My last two Canadian note were a gift to me from my dear friend Dave from the Great White North... These are the new issued plastic notes.....and once again the Canadians have out done themselves with the art work on these new notes. Holograms , and more Security then I care to list here to prevent counterfeit notes. I do miss the $1 & $2 notes. But... seems my neighbors to the north have done just fine with out ones and twos, along with the loss the their cent or"penny". Again thanks Dave for sending me the new issues.... Now waiting for the 20,50,100, ++++
