I was scrolling through the tracking thread and I noticed that some people seem to be getting large doars in bulk amounts. And getting some pretty good stuff from them too. I was curious how you get these. My bank always has 1 or 2 lying around but not in this huge amount. Also I saw a thread that say these large dollars are disappearing. Anyone know what's up with that? And info is welcomed.
I just ask at the bank. Most of the time there are none, sometimes a couple. The most I have found at once was about 400. I have not been able to find a bank that will order them for me. I know of other people that have be able to have them ordered 1000 at a time but they live in another part of the country.
After seeing a post about an e-bay dealer selling $100.00 notes on sale for less than face value, I thought for a second 'large dollars' might mean 'horse-blankets' LOL Obviously, they must mean Ikes...Right JensenBay?!?
They are going to be difficult to find in most any bank, but you might try an ad in your local newspaper offering to buy for a small premium over face. Someone who knows nothing about them or what to do with them might like the opportunity to get rid of them for a small profit. You just never know what you may find this way. My local "Shoppers Guide" gives a free Friday 30 word ad, maybe a local publication in your area might also.
