Sorry, but no. Wexler says it is a DDO at top of his listing and then in smaller lettering at bottom of his page says " Stage A: Machine Damage Doubling shows on date and Mintmark – EDS Die scratches North-South outside column #12 – EDS". I agree that it is machine damage, but nothing else. In his "Authoritative Refernce" with Flynn, he doesn't mention it at all. Sorry , Jim
I really do appreciate the explanation, however I'm not sure we're talking about the same coin. You're Referencing a Wexler listing. I'm referencing a CC listing. 1969S-1DO-002 | CLASS 5 (MDS) CONECA: UNKNOWN | Crawford:UNKNOWN Wexler: UNKNOWN | FS#:UNKNOWN Obviously you're much more knowledgeable than I but are we talking apples and oranges? I will look for "Authoritative Referance" with Flynn. Thank you: Lou
Some of the experts that have listings on the internet often try to be the first example posted for status ( IMO), and as such have no other examples to compare with theirs. When others do show coins, there may be adjustments in their deciding what it actually is. From minor differences to full 100%fakes have shown up, only later to be removed, so if money is involved, comparison with multiple sites and PCGS, and other cataloging sites should be compared before buying or selling. IMO. All of us, usually learn new information all of the time. None of us are magic, just older !! Jim
Also the MM sits too high. And is tilted to the right. Here is the link. https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1969&die_id=1969s1do002&die_state=mds
