I recently came across an old coin my father had and I'm not sure what it is. I contacted Coin Quest and they referred me to CoinTalk. I sent them pictures of the coin and they had never seen one like it so I could use your help in identifying it.

    Thank you for your help.

Looks like a silver round to me. A pretty beat up one but still a silver round.

Yes, it is not a coin, but a coin shaped silver round. I also do not know which bullion company made it.

Kind of neat , but I have no idea who made it , usually they'll have a name or mark . Approximate worth $17+ .

It's not a coin. It's a privately made silver round. These generally trade at bullion.

By the way, if someone saw images of that and still did not know what it was then I would be quite wary of any of their numismatic knowledge.

It is a silver round, and not a coin. Haven't seen this particular one before, any number of different companies may have manufactured it. I would guess that it is probably not one of the bigger firms, as the artwork is very simple. If it were mine, I would keep it as a momento of my father.

The problem with trying to identify a silver round is that for the most part they tend to be anonymous on the manufacturer, and there are well over 10,000 different rounds.
