1.) Honesty
2.) Integrity
3.) Deep knowledge
4.) An eye for quality
5.) Business acumen
6.) Skills with people
7.) Good marketing
8.) Good photographs (for internet dealers)

If any of these are missing, you will have a rough time as a coin dealer.

Successful coin collectors have many of the same traits, with the addition of:

9.) Patience.

Now, that's about an airline, but becoming a coin dealer follows the same concept. Put a ton of money into inventory and hope for the best.
