I was looking at some of the commems in my collection and came across this Pr. FDR gold
with facial doubling (see arrows) seen as a silhouette. Can any one identify the cause
of doubling? I always thought that the USM was extra careful with proofs, but they are
struck twice. This coin also appears to have an off-center edge strike, and other doubled
areas including the lettering. I'm pretty sure from the lettering that this is not a case of
    doubled die.

Don't think it's the die either, probably a die bounce from the second strike. But hey, with my record on identifying errors - wouldn't count on it :D
