It was in a lot of 8 quite nice coins, I paid quite a bit, but not so much when you divided it by 8 - at least it made me feel better!
I remember when you bought that lot, Pish. That's one of the nicest Macedonian shield/helmet coins I've seen. I think you got a heck of a deal on it.
I remember too! On holiday, up in the mountains with a dodgy internet connection, I was a happy bunny for the rest of the holiday. I think they worked out at 10 or 11 gbp each.

Nero AE24 7.37g Obv: KAIΣAP NEPΩN Rev: ΣEBAΣTOΣ MAKEΔONΩN This was my first Provincial coin (1987). I recall getting it because it was cheap compared to Roman Nero. I really did not become interested in Provincials until the new millennium.

That's the only Macedonian shield with a non deciphered monogram I have. The reverse also shows a Macedonian helmet.
