    I read DN VALENS PF AVG, so the emperor is Valens. But that is a very weird way to attach a file. Just use the "Upload a File" button - the Media button is for youtubes and such. Also, it helps to post both sides of a coin if you're looking for attribution.

    The image should be rotated 45 degrees clockwise to be upright. The legend is SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE, and the mint is Thessalonica. The device is Victory advancing left. This is a common coin of Valens.

    You may try soaking it in distilled water for a few days, then see if you can loosen any of the dirt with a toothpick or soft brush.
