Here is another example of a doubled die Lincoln small cent within my collection. This is a NGC MS68RD 1984 doubled die obverse Lincoln small cent. This is known as the doubled ear. Needle Sharp and Super Brilliant w/no detectable post strike deficiencies. NGC population of 41 with none graded higher. This is a DDO 1 and is a result of a Class IV doubling, or "offset doubling". There were still some issues with the composition change and bubbling and both PCGS and NGC take it into consideration when grading one these. http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=15326[IMG]
