Need some help with a Walking Liberty

    Does anyone else see what appears to be letters by the I in Liberty where I have the red arrows pointing to, or is it just normal marks from circulation?

    This is the best pic I can get. Thank You...

    It looks like some sort of damage (best I can tell) caused after it left the US Mint (otherwise known as PMD.)

    Woops, sorry folks, it appears to me to be a result of a die crack starting at the rim just above the I, skipping across the flag and with a die chip right on the I.

    Looks like a lamination, but could very well be the remains of a dried rubber band (seriously).

    Looks like some sort of scrape or mark that has filled with dirt and grime. Unappealing and ugly.
