I found this today. Do you think it is the Doubled Ear DDO?

Your Cent Lobe looks too rounded off at the bottom of the lobe. (Image from coppercoins.com - Bob Piazza)

It almost looks like a variation but the doubling does not go far enough up the ear. Dunno, maybe get a pro's evaluation.

I see what you mean, when I first saw it under a loupe I thought it had to be the DDO but after looking at known examples I started getting confused due to what you and some others said. It does not look like classic MD, it seems different but I will have to wait to see.

I tried to go to the Varieties and Errors sections of coppercoins.com but keep getting "page not found" messages. Must be updating them. They might list different varieties for the 1997. By the way.. Is your Cent P or D mint?

Yes, 1997p. I had a big bag of dates that have been known to have errors that I found CRH. Such as 1983, 1995, 1997, WAMs, 2009, Etc.

www.coppercoins.com only lists the one doubled ear as 1DO-001 in fine -B.U. starting at $5.00 in fine.
