    Hi all,
Just wondering what would be a fair price for a complete set of 17 cooins Treaty of Rome...?
I have seen the sets coming up at ebay for sale now. I have seen sets for about 100 euro from a seller I have been dealing with before.
But would it be fair price? Can i go cheaper somewhere and what about reputation of dealers?

    Anyone got an idea?

I honestly have no idea what the full set will cost, I think it's too early to tell. But I did do a little checking and found the price the Central Bank of Cyprus is charging for their coins - the silver is 34 Euros and the cu is 5 Euros.

So which ones are you asking about - the silver or the cupro nickel versions ?

I mean the regular brass coins (17 in total) which are for sale via a lot of ebaydealers.
I don;t think cyprus is in these sets...

Guess that the "17 coin set" refers to the bimetallic €2 commems only. (Three member states of the EU that do not use the euro - Cyprus, Romania, Hungary - will also participate in the program, but their issues will of course be different from the euro coins, in terms of size, composition and face value. Those are not part of the joint issue.)

€100 sounds a bit much for such a set. One dealer here in Germany I know charges almost €40 for the 12-coin set (that is, one from each country except Slovenia) and almost €50 for the 16 coin set (same as above, but with five different German mint marks). The Slovenian piece is sold separately at about €20. All those coins are from rolls/bags. So that would add up to roughly €70 for the 17 pieces. To me, 80 would be OK too if a dealer that I have been happy with before charges that much, and if shipping is not too much ...

I don't know a lot about prices in general, buy I have seen some auctions in eBay for about 70 euros, as chrisild said. He was quite exact with his figures. My personal estimation is the same:
+ From 15 to 20 euros for the Eslovenia coin.
+ From 14 to 15 euros for the 5 German mints.
+ About 3 euros for most of the other 11 countries
    + Some shipment charges
