I've never heard of a coin being recolored. That means cleaned?

I've seen some Lincoln's that turned pink when they were dipped in the wrong cleanser. It's possible that ANACS determined that someone tried to recolor one of these failed attempts.

Now that's a first for me, never saw a slab with "recolored".

Well at least it's not just me that's never seen recolored.

I did some lookin on sleaze bay. But haven't figured a good idea of value yet. I was thinking 5-8 bucks, but I could be way off. Any thoughts ?

"recolored" means that a coin has been cleaned and has begun to retone

You can sell the slab for a dollar. Crack it out and resubmit it. Even money they don't know what they're talking about.

To me, the term recolored means it had help gaining color after being cleaned.

I actually have a coin that's been retoned. This one is "certified" by PCI as FN12. I didn't know any better when I bought this, but for the price I paid and the look of the coin, I'm still happy with it in my type set. :)

Well good for you, Larry. Why did they slab it if it's cleaned? If it's cleaned it doesn't play. They don't know what they're doing.

They gave it a details holder. Did you miss that? The term recolored is nothing new.

I would have payed way more. Great deal. I would have bought it at the spot for $10.

So we're discounting coins for cleaning, now? I'm saying, "recolored," contrary to what you said it means to you, i.e., "cleaned," doesn't mean the same to them. Not when they gave the coin a grade, however discounted that grade may have been.
