I know the images are not great ,but would you call this 1942 S Unc. a full step nickel ? One heck of a die crack going across his head.
Can't tell by the photo Paddy but if in hand you see no hits to the steps that go from one step to the next then you have a full steps providing all steps are there. I could be wrong on this and stand to be corrected.
Sure looks full steps . rim less Obverse by crack. 1942-S Jefferson nickel die varies are fun all the silver have variety I think but 1942 P D S has the most number wise.
Tommy yeah I know the image is not the best. I need a new point and shoot camera . I believe it is,but different standards ngc/pcgs has me question . I see one issue under the 3rd column . Not the best looking coin but it's unc. I have two better specimens as I have two complete Unc. Jefferson nickel collection's . Just found this one laying around and wanted other opinions.
That's what I'm thinking. I would call it FS. The funny thing is I have major errors that are full steps one is graded MS 67 and I would love to have that grade and FS on another nickel.
If it looks better in hand than the pictures shows it would most likely be a full stepper. And poor Tom has a splitting headache for sure.
Yup 1942 just has more pages in CPG due to different alloy and first silver coin. Jefferson error site yes 1943 is the Most.
I'm thinking a dip would help a lot. Not going send in to grade as I have others that are much better. Again just wanted another view on FS.
If want a copy of this for your Jefferson nickel die varies it's still a $29.95 book. This is on sale now a one of the big A internet store's
