I like it @ 64/64+... very nice coin, frosty luster... now comes the fun part: figuring out what the vam # is!!

    I would say 63
Due to the marks on the reverse (Near eagles mouth and between ONE Dollar)
Rim mark at 9 o clock is a bit distracting. In photo 3
    Nice luster though

Unfortunately, there are no significant VAM's for the 85-O, so it really doesn't matter unless you're trying to collect one each of the 3,000 or so that are attributed for Morgan's.

The 'damage' near the eagle appears to be on the holder.

No, It looks to be a contact mark from the reeding of another coin.

    Also,
What do you think about the luster/eye appeal? IMG_20150307_110506 (1).jpg

Why does it show up in only one picture?

blurry photos and poor lighting. That is why I made sure to do a photo in that lighting, it brings out heavy contact marks that some lighting covers up.

64 - very nice eye appeal. Probably looks better in hand?

Yes, Way better in hand. I could not get all the luster in the photo.

You will always loose luster in the image if you don't take the coin out of the holder.

You could always opt for MS6Pi.

I'm thinking 63 at best. It's tough to see what's going on with the dark spots on the obverse.
