    Hi all,
I am new to the hobby and I have confused myself, I can't identify which variety this 1878 Morgan is, also if I could get a few guesses on the value I would appreciate it, thanks!

Greetings and Welcome to the forum. It looks like a 7TF to me and is worth about $35-$40 in XF-40 condition.

    Take Care

Welcome. Let's see here, it is definetly a 1878 P 7 tail feathers. :thumb: As for as grade, to me it is between VF-XF. Something is bothering me though. Might be a small possibility that it has been cleaned (to me that isn't a big problem cause if it was very old) but I am not to well at detecting cleaning. But to me, either way, it is a very nice Morgan. :thumb:

Nice coin. It looks like a 1878 with a reverse of 1879 (3rd rev). Can you look at the R in Pluribus. Does it looked doubled?

It is hard to tell but it looks like the top arrow feathers are slanted / you may be correct

It looks slanted to me. We had a recent thread on these, or I saw it in the Numismatic Section, but there's a good link therein with photos on this and other Morgan varieties.
