Just a note for those of you mentioning the Professional Edition. In the release of this new DELUXE edition, it stated the following (note the red text):

The Guide Book of United States Coins, Deluxe Edition, is an expanded version of the hobby’s best-selling “Red Book” (more than 23 million copies sold since 1946). Weighing in at 1,504 pages (more than three times the size of the regular edition), the new Deluxe Edition includes more historical information, expanded grading instructions with enlarged illustrations, a special 400-page in-depth feature on copper half cents and large cents, and valuable essays on collecting and investing in rare coins. The Deluxe Edition has certified population data, more die varieties, more auction records, and more pricing than the regular-edition Red Book. It covers American coinage from colonial times to the modern day—half cents through $20 gold double eagles, plus bullion, commemoratives, Proof and Mint sets, significant tokens, errors, and other collectibles. This new edition replaces the Professional Edition that was offered from 2010 to 2015.

I read that as a notification that the 6th edition of the Professional Edition would be the last. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

As someone noted, the professional edition goes away. I did not catch that at first. Still its a First Edition anyway.

perhaps they will find that enough people like the pro edition over a book that weighs a ton, and start putting out new editions of it.

I'm still using 2014, but have plans to get 2016 edition. I prefer the small spiral version. Least expensive and easiest to handle for me.

Thanks, I've been using a 2011 edition I received as a gift and it's time to update... Never knew of a large print, so my eyes thank you!

I ordered the Mega Deluxe Edition. Can't wait for delivery. Normal Red Books bore me.

Just got it in, and for the $28 this IS a BOOK you need to have. I am 100% satisfied. It has a good bit of info on Kennedy's but not more than the professional edition. However, the commemorative, Token, and other items make it a good no, make that great buy.

It needs to be in your library.

    My Superbird was in it....

My copy arrived a couple days ago. Haven't gone through it yet but WOW is it massive! (Smaller but heavier than the Krause Standard Catalog! Heavier paper.) My only concern right now is that the binding won't hold up to heavy use.

Mine too. We'll have to handle it gingerly. Ring binder would have been nice but maybe cost prohibitive? I would have paid the extra few shekels.......

That is going to be the major complaint of this book. It's not going to hold up well.

It CLEARLY was meant to convey a TON of information but I just don't see how the size of that book and heft will allow it to hold up for any period of time. I looked at the one my LCS had today and I was afraid to even open it too much in fear of cracking the spine and binding.

I would have preferred a spiral bound so that I can lay it open. Also makes for an easier reference that way instead of weighing the pages down to stay open. I'd have to use on of my dumbells to keep this thing on the right page.

I got quoted Priority Mail shipping of $32.10 on a $28 book. I think I'll get it off Amazon and get free shipping. Ouch. Flat rate medium box at the PO is $12.65 - less if you do it online.

I checked Amazon, but the best price (I think) is at Wizard for $35.01 shipped.

Looks cool, but I'll stick with the regular spiral one. I like to get them yearly, so paying an extra 15 or more for a heavier thing is outta the question for a cheapo like me. Plus, I go to the bookstore a lot and just peruse what they have from time to time
