Does anyone have an album from this maker? I'm interested in a type album by this maker, but their website is sorely lacking in photos and information on the albums contents, makeup, and the way it works. I have a Dansco 7070 and am looking for an album that uses a better protection scheme. It would also be nice to have a few more holes to plug in, maybe even a few varieties. But, I don't want to buy this thing without knowing what coins I need to buy to complete it.
i like the eale brand album for slabbed coins...it holds all the major graders slabs . i use it for my morgan set.
I e-mailed them a few days ago on this very subject for a list of coins. They don't have a soft-copy but said they would fax me the list. As soon as I get it I'll share it.
Here's the list as promised. http://typesets.wikidot.com/local--files/collectors-resource-center/EagleHolderType.tif
I'm sure glad I don't need the list, as I can't find any way to enlarge it to a readable size, or to print it. :headbang:
I did get it to enlarge enough so that I can see it. Did you figure it out? If anyone needs me to, I can type it either as a word document or as an Excel file. The least I can do for all the help.
OK...I sat down and typed this out for those of you that couldn't read that crappy photo that Eagle sent to us collectors. Took me an hour, but I consider it thanks for all the times all of you have helped me out!!
That was some project. I see they are ignoring the State Quarters and they don't recognize the DeadPrez series at all! They did, however, recognize the Westward Journey nickels as separate "types". Verrrrrrry interesting.
Yes, I noticed that they ignored the State Quarters also. It really doesn't make sense...especially when they include th westward journey nickels and the Lincoln cent special series that doesn't even have a design yet. I also don't understand why they included the Silver Eagle? Looks like that would have been omitted since it's not a circulating issue. If they put the American Silver Eagle in, then they should include the Gold and Platinum issues as well. Also, there's no excuse for not including the Prez. Dollars. I think I'll skip this album. It would take my entire retirement to fill this thing in.
Ugaman72, Nice job compensating for crappy customer service. My guess is they have two motivations for leaving out some coins: 1. trying to stay below a $100 target (album is currently $90) 2. they do not want competing products so it pushes you into their statehood & prez albums I hate to disappoint them but $90 is out of my range for one album and I hate marketing tactics like this.
I agree with both of you. If they are going to put out an album that's nearly 100 bucks, and include all of the types (some of which cost in the thousands to get decent examples), then it stands to reason that we would want it as complete as possible. Looks like I'm going to have to buy my own blank album and make my own up. It's crazy that nobody can come up with a nice attractive album that doesn't cost a fortune. Oh yeah, it needs to have a 2X2 hard coin holder system...those plastic slides that Dansco has make me nervous.
