Here is a recent new purchase. Although this isnt gonna in any beauty contests it's my first tetradrachm featuring a empress. Also Emmet lists it as Common but I couldnt find 1 single example on any of the main search sites or even dealers. It will be also posted on wildwinds, according to Dane. This will be my 5th Faustina jr to be posted on it. Guess I should specialize in her Faustina Jr. (146 - 175 A.D.) Well. Call me jelly and put me in a doughnut (apologies to all you grammar aficionados). A nice pick up Mat, score!
I think most of them hand out at the British Museum. They have put their Republicans online. I hope they continue adding other groups. My best is from CNG41 in 1997 where it sold well below estimate. I do not know why since it is the nicest one of Domna I have seen.
I'd love to own a Domna Tet. It amazes me how common some of the females are in bronze & denarii, but in tetradrachm form, they are pretty scarce to rare.
