Is this a lamination gouge on this 1937 wheat penny
The possible gouge is above the 1937

Although closer pics would help, I'm 95% sure I can see a rather large lamination to the right of Abe.

Thanks so it is for sure a lamination I got it in a bag of wheat pennies a while ago and was looking through them

It looks to me like a lamination. I collect these from these early years as far back as the 1909 Lincoln. It looks kind of flakey. Is the lamination area raised a bit or a gouge like you stated? Or both?

Cool it seems to be a gouge but there is one spot were it is raised but it's like a dot but the main gouge goes in the coin

Looks like a bad alloy mix to me, and the gouge may be either a bubble or some non-metallic contamination that got stretched out when the ingot was rolled into coin stock--in other words, a lamination error. :)
