    It has been altered after it left the US Mint and is known as a post-mint alteration.

    I only opened this thread to see how many posts it would take before someone corrected the spelling of Nickel...lol....

    Not making fun of you @eddiespin. I was just curious and would have likely done it myself.

    How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

    Someone would hollow the middle of a nickel so they could put a penny in it and call it a magic coin One side penny one side nickel

    There was just a youtube posted in one of these threads that showed a machinist turning a Sacagawea dollar into a magicians coin. I don't remember which thread.

    It was cool to see it being done.
