Has anyone ever gotten a box that was short a roll (or more). Just curious.

    Nope. Never.

Edit: never a whole *roll* short. Have had the wrong U.S. denomination in a roll a few times.

Bought 50 BU Rolls Pre 64 Roosevelt dimes...nice coins, and, I am only 10 rolls in, and have about 25 asst RPM's put aside..looking for Full Bands too..these little buggers are tough..if I find some, the coin has too many contact marks..hopefully, I'll find a few worth sending in for grading.

With a potential moving coming up, I've slowed down on my hunting - trying to avoid bringing more heavy stuff into the house that I'm just going to have to haul back out in a couple of weeks. It's a shame because the weather we've been having isn't fit to do much of anything else!

    Yes...a few occasions:

    1. I bought a box of half dollars, took them to my car and opened them right then and there. I noticed that one roll was shorter than the others. Without opening any of the rolls, I took the box back into the bank and showed the manager that a roll was short. That manager opened the roll and counted it. I was 6 half dollars short on that roll. He reimbursed me the short amount that I had originally paid. I'm just glad that I opened them in the car right away.

    2. I bought a box of half dollars from another bank with a different delivery truck. I didn't open the box until I got home. I noticed that the order of the box seemed weird. I reorganized it and noticed that it was a roll short. The next day I went back to the bank and told the teller who sold it to me. She consulted with the bank manager and they both told me that they couldn't reimburse me because it wasn't shown to them right away. However, about a day later, the manager e-mailed me, told me that he didn't think I was trying to take advantage of the bank due to my business (most of our money is in that bank plus we've taken out a few loans there). He then said that he was going to reimburse me $10 that I was short from a "special account" that he is authorized to use. :) Quality bank, that is.

After a 6-8 month hiatus, I am back to CRH.

I ordered two boxes of halves from my main branch but needed to get money from my regular bank. After I withdrew money, I asked if they had any halves. They said that they had $402 worth of hand rolled halves. :) They asked how many I would like...I said all. They were amazed and asked if I was joking. I said no. They seemed very happy to unload them on me and I was glad to take them. I then went to my other bank and picked up two boxes of half dollars.

    $402 hand rolled halves: 1964, 1966, 1987D
$1000 machine rolled halves: SKUNK! :(

Oh well...I'm glad to be back.
