I am very pleased with my new digital microscope. This is a MM on the reverse of a Morgan Dollar. What do you think?
I need to get one I guess, because I can't see them with my 20X loop without getting eye strain. Where did you find it?
I understand Google but I don't want to get something useless that's why I ask the person using one that does a good job.
LED that is adjustable in a circle around the head. Another thing I like about it is that it is only about 6" tall and 6" wide. Doesn't take up a lot of space.
It doesn't have a model number. If you go to ebay and type in Andonstar it will show you the different styles. Mine is the fixed head style. I got it because I will be looking at coins mainly.
On copper it is pretty good. I've only been working with it for a couple of hours and haven't used it on any toned coins yet to really see the color.
For sharper images, try acquiring the image in grayscale rather than color. This will eliminate color noise and white balance issues and you should get a nicer image. Another thing you could do is cover the light with a green filter, which should reduce diffraction and sharpen the image further. Even as is, however, the images look nice.
Coinzip.com sells them . Alan is a member here ....what nice is having someone for support if needed. I have had mine for over 15 years! Never had any issues . Alan also sells the Stands, light boxes, and other related items. Go to coinzip.com and see what you're missing . Just a thought you get what you pay for as I first purchased a cheaper model scope years ago. Ended up returning it as it did not compare to the Dino - lite microscope camera.
