    For the benefit of us newbies, what specifically screams "fake"? I mean to me, it" just don't look right", but I can't really articulate it. Except for the date, which looks completely wrong.

    That's good enough, the date is wrong, not the same font as on the genuine coin.

    Often that is what warns experienced people as well. After you have spent a lot of time looking at real coins, when a fake coins along we first know it because it just doesn't look right even though we may not be able to say why.
