Is this a misprint???

    I found this wierd looking silver dime and I wanted to know if it is a misprint or just post mint damage

    Looks like PMD to me, maybe some kind of acidic bath

    I wish I could get a better picture but from my view it's really shiny.

    possible, slightly, a fake.

    which is good, since it is probably worth more as a fake-- contemporary that is

    or else a water, metal detecting coin

    It definitely ran head on into a disaster, shiny or not.

    I'm going acid/oil bath. I have some junk silver that look just like this i found in an old box of oils and other liquids with metals parts for cars and such

    Ok thanks it looks like I still have only 1 "misprint coin"

    One more question. I found this dime it looks like it might be a misprint but is it???

    When talking about coins, it would be considered a miss-strike due to the fact coins are struck with 2 dies. The blank coin appears to be a blank planchet and is worth anywhere from $1-$5. The dime could be a CUD error but from that photo i can not say for certainty. If it is a cud, you looking at another few bucks. Keep up the hunt!
