Hello. Does anyone know of any good references to follow on Japanese occupation notes of ww2? I want to collect every series, but there's a lot to follow so I'm looking for a complete list of all the notes. Thank you!
My son, with a love of coins and history, wanted this book a year and half ago for his birthday, as it was highly considered ( read the comments/ratings on the Amazon site) for he has a collection of occupation currency. At that time I found a copy for $80, and I just found as I got the url for this post it is now in that range of scarce numismatic books @ $389 used. He has read it at least twice ( almost 900 pgs. ) Maybe you can find a reference library ( like a college or military ) that could allow you to borrow it, or keep an eye of eBay, and the cheap internet used bookstores. I am not sure if you mean a list of serial # as issued, or just the various printings. Jim
World War Two Remembered by Schwan-Boling will cover all of the series (in addition to much more in the way of WWII). There is a book that was produced in Singapore about 10 years ago that also has good coverage. I will insert the title when I can remember it. It is out-of-print now, though, and the only copies I have seen recently are $3-400.00.
Correct! I had it in copy paste and was distracted and forgot to paste it http://www.amazon.com/World-War-II-Remembered-Numismatic/dp/0931960401
The best way to get a copy of WWII Remembered is to email Fred Schwan and ask him for one. He charges about $65.00. Fredschwan@yahoo.com
