As I listed earlier I am going through a box of paper currency and I ran across this 10 shillings Radar Note from the Bank of Kenya and I was just wondering if this would raise the value of the bill and if so by how much? I want to make a fair offer on the currency. As the picture shows the bill is unc and numbered 477774, I also have the 477777 as well. Thanks for any help.
value is created by need. The value of your note will increase as the number of people who want the note increase. I do not collect foreign notes often, but my home grown USA notes sell for a premium as radars quite. Sorry for the vague answer, but value on some items with intermittant demand is hard to explain.
Demand and Supply As what Daggarjon mentioned, the value of your Kenya note is driven by demand and supply. You have a nice radar serial number 477774. You can put the pair in an auction, maybe in ebay, to sell it. You should be able to determine the value of your banknotes. Asian collectors do not really collect radars. They usually collect solid number banknotes. The North American collectors does collect radars especially Canadians. I have a similar Kenya banknote dated 1984 which has a serial number 555555 in my collection. See below.
