Turok, I collect Ancients and not medieval coins, but I recently bought one from France, a Valence, Bishops of Valence and Die, Denier. It too is very, very thin.
If you look at the current auction for CNG (auction 345) They have a bunch of this stuff in there right now. You might be able to identify it through those means.

I think the first suggestion is the most correct. Before making any suggestion i would just start to read what's on the coin, for it is well readable: Cross side: Ludovicus Rex, so king Louis. Other side (That's supposed to be a cathedral or castle in the middle): Turonus Civi So city of Tours. These coins were issued under the rule of both Louis VIII and IX.
