Ever since I started CRH I wanted one of these. I had so many I imagined were this one. It was totally green but I saw the WE and the 19 of the date sticking out of the goo and I knew right away. A few days in mineral oil and a couple of hours in Xylene cleaned 90% of the crap and I was able to photograph it in all of it's rotten glory. It's back in the oil now. Hopefully the green will all come off. I am so happy. So many boxes searched and I finally found som ething to put a real smile on my face. http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984d1do002&die_state=lds
I'm so stoked. The condition of the coin is actually pretty good. It's not worn, it looks like it sat somewhere and rotted. I cleaned most of it off just by soaking, and am confident that the rest will come off. It will be corroded a little it's still beautiful.
This one still has separation lines on the t's in trust. I haven't seen that on the pics available. That means it's an early die state without much wear. Now if I can soak off the crap..,..
Hate to break it to you Bryant but it appears you haven't seen much class VII doubling or studied any 1984d dies. This is a significant and much sought after coin.
