I can't tell if this is a serious lamination error, or just damage. Also, does anyone know how much it is worth? http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/GhUAAOSwqu9U1-lt/$_12.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/sQEAAOSwrklU1-lu/$_12.JPG
It looks as though it may have been a metal detector find. Could be lamination but more likely encrustation from being buried. It is a common date for this series and goes for around $50.00 in A.G. condition. Even the two varieties of this year are also common in low grade.
That's one rough girl - wouldn't want to bring her home to meet Mom!! Seriously, may be lamination error but a little too much damage to tell! As a price - at just good condition could bring in around 100$ - but yours is considerably less than good, so who knows? Maybe 20-25$ for a filler coin till you can find a better one?
Thanks. I collect a lot of large cents, but errors on large cents sometimes actually decrease value, so I was a little iffy on this one. Also, it's the sellers pics, I didn't actually buy it.
