    I'm not trying to have a sub collection of Trajan denarii, but I couldn't leave this one in the shop.

    Trajan Denarius. IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P, laureate bust right, drapery on far shoulder / COS V PP SPQR OPTIMO PRINC, Arabia standing left, holding a branch and a bundle of canes, camel at feet. RIC 142, RSC 89.

    Nice shopping, i like the camel, no camels with hadrian i think, i like many of his reverses, with i miss with Hadrian

    Absolutely great coin, Randy - I would not have left it in the shop either. This is the Imperial version of a type minted in Bostra with Greek legends, the first official coinage of Provincia Arabia. The Bostran versions came in drachm and tridrachm denominations.

    The feature to look for on these coins is a well-struck and detailed camel, and yours has just that, with a nice little hump. Great find!

    Now find the sestertius version - it's quite rare in any grade.
