I saw this coin, lot 4017 on a German auction house on Sixbid with an estimate of 100 euros. See link

    http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=1730&category=36575&lot=1549720

Yet I have either the same or similar coin, looks identical to me, and I think or thought it was worthless.

I have 8 others and they come with a card BTN (German Co) with descriptions of each animal.

They can ask whatever amount they want. The question remains, "What was the final sale price?"

I thought the coin was literally worthless so I was surprised they would have a starting price of 80 euros and an estimate of 100.....

If that is a bimetallic coin, how did parts of the silver colored metal get gold colored?

They describe it as a medal of white metal with gold plated center. The estimate is what I call going fishing...

Yes it is non precious metal. The AH is German and I think if you go to the BTN website such coins are on offer for about 8 euros.
