Would like thoughts on the overall look of the coin as well as potential grade

...and yup...I see the finger print on the reverse, to me its not really as distracting as a lot of finger prints that I've seen.

The color is attractive, but too bad about the spot on the coat and the print on the reverse. Grade is no worse than PR64. Hard to differentiate grades higher than that from a picture.

They don't attribute Full Steps on proof coins.

Proof Jefferson nickels full steps isn't a noted detail when graded

I'm thinking PF64/65, but I still don't like the fingerprint on a proof coin in spite of your comment.

Agree 100%. The spot bothers me more than the fingerprint, it is just in such a bad place.

The Social Security Administration told me you can't use that as an excuse until you turn 62.

    That's not a carbon spot, it's his Democratic-Republican lapel pin :)

Social security <★> if BoneHead and cronies 62 will be 72 . I am already under the wire.
Beautiful toner to bad fingerprint and carbon spots are on it.

So if this were sent in for grading would it grade straight? Does the carbon spot, ehhem, lapel pin, bring it down grade wise or detail it?

I hope you're grade is better than what we think. Photo grading is a fun game.

It would grade, but get that idea out of your head right now. Your coin simply doesn't have the value to be considered a worthwhile submission. If you want a graded 70-S proof, it would be much cheaper to buy one already slabbed. And FWIW, I feel your pain. Mine even has a spot in the same place: two photos, first for cameo, second for color.

No plans on grading here just trying to learn. @Lehigh96 glad you commented. I know you're a nickle guru and figured you'd have some good advice

Overall, I like it. I'll go with everybody else and say it's at least in the 65 range (no surprise with modern proofs though).

Since this is a raw coin, I would, as @Lehigh96 says, not send it in unless you could get a super deal on the slabbing fees or had a shipment you needed to round out. I also think it could possibly benefit from an acetone bath.

Personally, if it were mine, I'd soak it in acetone (particularly to stop progression of the fingerprint), throw it in an Air-Tite, and enjoy my coin.
