Why did this sell for so much more? I'm guessing one of the coins has an error, Especially since one of the bidders asked if that is the actual item in the photo.

You're right, there has gotta be something going on there given the insane price.

Looks like some cameo on the half?

Did you happen to notice the toning on the obverse of the 10c & 50c? It might be that a couple of the bidders were thinking the photos could have been better.

After some Google searches I'm still at a loss. The only thing I can think of is they are taking a gamble that the quarter is the rare silver variety. If not that then maybe doubling on one of the coins??? -I don't see that though. Other possibilities are shill bidding (but who would shill it that high??), or bidding war between MAJOR BIDIOTS.

One of them asked if the photos are the actual item. So that keeps leading me to believe they see something.

I believe the 65 sms kennedy is the rarest in cameo condition of all 3 years... it does appear to be cameo so that has to be it

yep, some treatment to remove haze on that half might reveal a CAM SMS ... could be a nice score, but it is a gamble

Its the Half...for sure. However $150 on a picture that is lacking edited but the payoff is worth the risk if one can afford it.

The "toning" is probably the reflection from the shirt the dude was wearing haha

You have to wonder if the buyer would try to open an item not as described case (if the coin is not cameo).
