Hi my name is Kim, I am a new collector of coins an am still learning, I have found a Lincoln 1978 D Penny an on the obverse side he is missing his bottom lip. It looks as though his mouth is wide open (very cool) My question is " Is this considered an error coin?" also it looks like the 1978 is doubled an something else going on with his ear. I do have a problem getting it to download because it is to big but if I don't make it big you cannot see the errors. Is there someone here I can send it email too? I believe I can get it to do that. I Thank you all who can help me with this. Kim
That won't work, you have to reduce the image size, they need to download " photoscape " heres a link to it http://www.download-well.com/?adnm=...S_BPHS_SRK_ENEN_KEX_Core1&utm_term=photoscape
I'm just glad I can take pics with my 5 mpl camera that uploads just fine. Some of this resizing is way over my head - is there a setting on your camera to adjust the megapixels before you take the picture? If so don't set anymore than 5 MPL - if higher than that the picture is too large in mpl's and the program you are uploading it to will reject it. Remember - higher megapixels if for producing quality large prints - smaller megapixles is for sending pics on the interweb!! (or is all this just wrong and I don't know what I'm talking about?? - I fear the latter)
L.O.L I downloaded PhotoScape, an split the picture into tiny little pieces hahah but for some reason it still says its to big to download? I'm not sure what to do an would love for someone to look at my coin
Hi Thank you for photoscape, but it still did not work for me.... but what I did do An i hope i can do this. I made my Avatar picture the picture of the coin I wanted to show.
Don't blow the picture up. After you upload it here click on show image full size and it will enlarge in your post.
Gotta love it when the first post in response to the OP suggests posting a photo, and right after she explained that she's having trouble... posting a photo. Perhaps Mr. Vic was right after all.
Hi I made my avatar the coin I wanted to download (1978 D) maybe you could tell me for-sure now if it is indeed what you said a greased die? I appreciate your time. Thank you
In photoscape there is a button that says resize. In the top box change the large number to something like 800 or 1000. Then save the pic.
Yes greased die. It was made when part of the die got filled up with greased that they use to polish the die leaving parts design on the coin gone. That has to the most funny greased die I have seen, it looks like lincoln is scared.
D So Then this is Not considered an error correct? I'm sorry there is so many different things with a coin that I'm just not sure. Thank You for your Answers to my questions.
It is an error they call them struck threw (grease) errors. Sometimes confused with weak strike errors.
