Okay, it was a tough year. Maybe the toughest. Lots of denominations not made, and of those that were made several that are extremely rare. Still, there is something alluring about the 1933 date when seen on a coin that's hard to describe.
Well, I was sure I had a few super nice UNC Bulgarian coins from 1933...turns out they are all 1930 (got them all at the LCS one day...someone came and sold them as a group.) It appears I only have a couple photographed...and a couple that aren't photographed including a nice XF/AU Panama 1933 1/2 Balboa (mintage of 120,000) and a Mexico 1933 10 Centavos. Here are the two I have photographed: Australia 1933/32 1 Penny Mexico 1933 1 Peso
Well, had a look at a pile of Panamanian silver, looks like I have a second 1/2 Balboa and two 1/10 Balboas (mintages of around 150,000.) I'm sure there are more lying around here somewhere...
@sonlarson So, when I saw your Chilean coins my brain goes "Don't you have a couple of those?" So I looked...and found nothing. UNTIL... Went to the LCS today, and there are a couple I'll be picking up on Monday when conditions are favorable, including one with a super cool die clash through the date. I'd set them aside the last time I was there... Check back Monday evening
Well, it took me a bit longer to swing back by the LCS to pick up my Chilean coins...but at long last, here they are: Chile - 1933 10 Centavos Chile - 1933 1 Peso (die clash through date)
