I am on a doubled die searching marathon tonight, even though they were all MD. I cant believe how fast i am finding these but I hope this one is the real deal. NNotice the e Pluribus for doubling. All advice appreciated thanks.
It's always possible and may look much different in hand. I see the flat shelf like MD on the lettering along the top and some on the wings. I can't be absolute on the E Pluribus though. Better to get an in hand examination from a dealer or two. Certainly there's nothing we can't be wrong about w/o seeing it up close. There also appears to be something above the left talon that does not look right either.
No. It is certainly not the "big" 46 DDR, which would be obvious on an image like this, but nothing I can see indicates a minor variety either. Also, and as an aside, this coin would feel right at home in a junk silver pile (if you know what I mean...).

What exactly do you mean, Tommy? If what I assume - and you know whatthey say about making assumptions - I am not 100% sure what it is, but believe it may be part of the design; I know it is there on dates throughout the series, but never really gave it much thought until you mentioned it.
