I did a box of halves and needed three replacements for my the coins I found in that box, two 40% silvers and a half with a painted decal thing on it (I know it is worthless but if I like a coin I will keep it). Anyways, When I went to the bank I got four halves with $2, all of them were damaged in some way for a weird reason. One half, a 1971p, looks to have a cud. Is this a cud or PMD, it is raised on the coin and looks like one, but it could be the effect of the edge bump. What do you think?
That is the problem with it, if it were fine and had that I would say cud right away, but with the damage it makes it hard. It was also heavily cleaned, not seen in photo though but the hairlines on this coin are crazy!
Especially since the weakness that you would see with a CUD is right where the damage is on the reverse.
