Countermark id help George III 1817 shilling.

    Good looking coin are you sure it's a counter stamp? Maybe someone else will chime in here and have info on it. Unfortunately it looks like damage, you sure it's not? The counter stamp person should have stamped his neck. lol.gif

    Not sure about that one, Steven. I'm inclined to go with afantiques, PMD. It could possibly have been stamped with a small tool of some sort, but more likely just damaged sometime in it's long history.
