My wife found this Chile 10 pesos in a GeoCache yesterday.

 

This one my grandfather carried with him and his brother from Italy. There would have been 4 50L gold coins but the guards at Ellis island took them.

 

This one is not expensive but it's really clean and almost looks like a matte proof

 

Got these two German Thalers.

 

Isle of Man - 1980 Lake Placid Olympics 1 Crown was in a medals lot I received.

Nice 1890 1 cent One country we rarely get to see. Also in a grade that is exactly nice.

 

That reverse is epic. Why can't they do designs like this on today's coinage?

What did you pay for this particular one, I am curious as I know nothing about them.

 

I have always wanted to have some coins graded but I don't know much about how or where to go, who is trustworthy etc.... I have done some research.

 

Bought it in a set of 3 for $120 total, which was a decent deal. My guess is I'll get $50-60 for it. Italian coinage around the 1910s-30s included a number of beautiful designs - if you're interested, I'd recommend checking out the Numista chronological breakdown of Italian coins starting here.

 

I've been gone a while but it's always great to come back! Mine is a 1792 Barbados Penny Proof Restrike. I won it off a Heritage Auction this week. It's been 'silvered' to look like the rare silver proof, which I don't mind, it adds a little character and story to it. A little spotty but still a neat addition that fits into my Latin Coppers collection... J

This just came back from PCGS, list on coinfacts is $230, realistically goes for $400 ( mintage of 5000 ). I just thought it looked cool and the shop that had it didn't know what it was but "pretty sure it's silver" so I got it for melt, $22.



This I picked up because my daughter likes turtles. No, I do not have a clear focus for collecting.

 

just now bought this. big money too NGC MS-63 BN Italy 1919R 10 centesimi Key Date. been looking for a MS grade for this year 1919 for only 16 years . saw this 1 and I pounced on it. lol sellers pics:




so happy right now. for the "coins with insects" collection. doing the date run of this type bee coin 1919-1937.

 

1984 Singapore proof set. got this set mainly for the proof 10 cent sea horse coin. the cameo is awesome for this coin. I already have a proof 1 dollar coin.
