Back around Christmas time, my dad found two old bank things in the garage. My brother spent about 2 hours trying to pick the locks. When he finally succeeded, we found about 15 silver dollars, Morgans and Peace. All common dates, and circulated. But still a great find for some piggy banks my dad forgot he had.

that reminds me of the time a was at an antique shop. there was this very very old 1 cent gum ball machine there. i picked it up and man, was it heavy! i gave it a small shake and i heard coins rattiling around in there! i bet there was at least 4 to 5 pounds of cents in there. the same person also had another gum ball mahine that was exatly the same. i picked it up and this one was much lighter than the other one. unfortunalty, i didn't have $130, or i would have bought it, picked the lock, got this coins out and sell the machine. o well, now i know to carry more cash! also, this one time, i was at another antique shop and they had a cash register toy piggie bank thing. the starnge part about it, it had a lock on it when it only was under $10 in change. it will not open unless there is $10 worth in change in it. well, i have that a shake and there was coins in it too! i didn't want to pay $60 for it though. next time when i hear coins, i am going to buy it and then sell it as soon as i get the coins out!:D

bought a $3 handmade birdhouse bank at an antique place marked %20 off, so $2.40. Inside was a $2 bill and 35c!

My girlfriends mom received a full $20 roll of 1943 half dollars of P, D, and S mints(40 total) about a week ago as a payment at Rite Aid. All would grade F-VF. Me = Jealous!!

    what's a piggy bank?
Never had one, never had money to put in it anyway.
Darn... the things I missed out on when I was a kid.
