1968 S Jefferson Nickel Black Beauty???

    Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

    I came across this going through some newly acquired mint sets. If I'm correct, '58 was the year best associated with the black beauty designation. I think this one is now, or still working on becoming one as the years go by?

    Do we have a winner???

    1959 is the most common date,
    then followed by 1958, also fairly common.

    I don't see that mis-annealed look on the surfaces of your 68-S though.

    Appears as if someone scraped the edges.
    But that could just be the photo/light.

    I have a 1968 black beauty nickle with cracks on both sides also some letters are missing on the back is it worth any thing?
