The advice not to buy from flea markets isn't intended as blanket advice; it's directed to and solid for those who don't know what they're doing. Those who do need simply to ignore it. Congrats on the fine return.
Very true. I think some of us do quite well. There's also a stigma that is conveyed by some authors that believe these places should be avoided by all. It does take some effort to get out there, but it's a labor of love for sure.
So should the advice be, "if you cannot grade or determine the value of a coin, don't go shopping for them at flea markets/garage sales" or something along those lines?
FWIW as another data point, the next one up for auction sold back in the 60s ($68) So, the value of asking the question here is approximately $22...
