Hey all, I just received an email from "ServicePayPal" that was spam or a hack attempt. Message said I had opened a case against a buyer and it listed the buyer's email and instructions on what I needed to do to address the matter. I forwarded it to PayPal and it turns out that my suspicion was correct.
Just wanted everyone else to be aware.

Thanks! Always good to know about these phishing attempts *before* we get the emails ;-)

Look closely at the email address - it is not "PayPal" it is like "padpal" or "paylpal" or other variations of the word. And If you receive a suspicious email FORWARD it to spoof@paypal.com

I use to get these a lot - I kept forwarding them to paypal. One time I was getting one from the same address for about 2 weeks. What was funny was a couple were from the same address, but different issues. Have not received one in years now. Hope it stays that way.

I used to get them a lot as well, spoofs from ebay as well. But like Mark I haven't received one for years now.

    +3 :)
I was getting them all the time a few years back, but one day they just stopped. Had 1 last week though! The subject line read "PP statement".....

When I get an "odd" notification like that, I usually have a look at the message source of the e-mail. In many cases you can tell right away that it is not from the company it pretends to come from. :) Also, check your PayPal account directly (website, app) if you get an e-mail like that. If the message does not show there, it's extremely likely to be bogus ...
