Okay, so everyone has heard of the full step (FS) Jefferson Nickel. But what about those Jefferson Nickels that can't even manage to have one complete step? This is a thread so we can beat up some poorly struck Jeffersons. Show me your No Step Jefferson Nickels. To make it really fun, just post the reverse of the coin so we can try to guess the date from the strike and the mintmark. I will start!

Word. If its a poorly struck Jefferson, it has like a 71.39% chance of being a 1964 model nickel.

And yes I made that up.

Now you are getting close, but it is not a 54-D/S.

It is one of the lesser varieties of the 1955-D/S.

That explains why I couldn't see the tool marks of the 49.

I thought I had one, but turns out it's a bag mark away from being a no-stepper. :p Looks like 1 or possibly 2 steps. Doesn't matter, I bought it for the toning, not the steps, anyway. :)
