Here is the best of 7 really nice War Nickels I picked up some time ago. They are all uncirculated, but some of the others have thumb-prints on them, alas... :headbang: This example is developing a golden tint on both sides as you can begin to see in the picture. Just wondering what the grade opinions on this coin are. Thanks Ben
WOW! That one is a beauty. The only one I own is a 42 S in AG condition. I go 64/65+. Very nice. :thumb: Phoenix
Another beauty! Wow, look at that luster! I go 63/64 on that one. A little hard to tell. Very nice! :thumb: Phoenix
Question, I can't really tell, is the second one a Full step? If it isn't, looks like it is really close. Phoenix
Nah, I don't think any of them are Full Steps. From what I've read and understand they must be 'Just That' Full Steps, all the way across. Take Care Ben
Hey Bone , I find your new lighting technique too distracting and it makes the coins too difficult to see. Ease off on the light reflections and I think you'll be better off. Looks too much like one of those selling techniques on Ebay.
Looks like a 66 for the first one and a borderline 64/65 on the second nickel. Neither look full steps from the pics.
howdy, they're both very nice with great luster. I concur with the group - first one 65ish and the second 64ish. can't tell about the steps, but they don't look Full. from what I've seen, the many of the war nickels were pretty good strikes and FS varieties are fairly common. not sure about 43P and 45D and boys and girls, FS is where you cherry pick jeffersons. geez, I spent several hours at my local dealer picking thru his stock. coin shows, antique dealers, wherever - there are some years/mint marks that are positively obscene with FS - 1961 P&D, 1962 P&D. BTW, dave's got 43P MS65 w/6 steps at $150 and the 45D MS65 w/6 steps at $95. Not hawking Dave, but his prices can put some of these FS issues into perspective. http://www.thecollectorsfriend.com/jefferson.html peace, rono
