Here is a circulated 1878 Morgan which I was hoping you'd provide your grade and opinion on. Also, there is a hidden "neatness" about this coin. Take care Ben
I'd give it a XF-45. Also, I'm not sure if it's the photo, but the color seems a litle different to me. All 8tf's are cool thoough!
You rascal, you got it The color is about right, I'm using a little neon Ott-Lite setup. The purple cloth material is much better (IMHO) than red material for taking pictures. Here is a really nice 1882 using the same method.
nice very nice coins. the 82 has a very strong strike for a Philly coin. Very pretty coin. Is the luster gone from the 78 or is it just the pic? the breast feathers look good for the appearance of the coin. I am looking to add an 8tf to my collection, I think it's my next target. I looked at a 7 over 8 this last weekend, but I couldn't make out the doubling even with a loupe so I passed.
i would say xf 40 to 45 for the 78 and 63 for the 82...nice coins...nice details on the 82....i like the ott lights for viewing the coins tho they are expensive...most lighting i use are the energy savers in 120-150 watts.....thank you for sharing.
I'm going to agree with most everyone else on the '78 as EX-45. Is there a die break on Liberty's neck or just some other distraction? Your other coin is real nice. I would go 63 - 64 on that. Probably a 63! Do you have any 1904-o with a doubled profile?
Nice coins! The 82 has an exceptional strike to it, very nice luster. I go XF on the first one. Very nice. You've gotta love the 8 tail feather. :thumb: Phoenix
